Hair of the Dog Pub, the Honest Pint, the Terminal BrewHouse
If the Lindley brothers are the kings of the food scene, then Matt Lewis and Geoff Tarr own the drinking world. The pair have stakes in three Chattanooga watering holes. Hair of the Dog is a classic English-style pub, while the Honest Pint sports a Wild West saloon decor but specializes in Irish whiskey (and pub food that’s way better than average). Hit Terminal BrewHouse for craft beer, including an amazing German Maibock and a smooth Scottish ale, best enjoyed on the rooftop patio. 334 Market St.; hairofthedogpub.net. 35 Patten Pkwy.; thehonestpint.com. 6 14th St.; terminalbrewhouse.com

Lamar’s Restaurant and Motel
Yup, it’s a motel, but it’s genius and a true ’Nooga experience. The decor is straight out of a 1970s basement (complete with carpet on the walls), all types and stripes are known to mingle, and it doesn’t hurt that the bartenders pour the stiffest drinks in town. 1020 East M. L. King Blvd.; lamarsrestaurant.com

Rhythm & Brews
A Chattanooga hub for live music, R&B attracts a variety of Southern-flavored artists (such as the Drive-By Truckers, Justin Townes Earle, and Toubab Krewe). It’s on the back side of Big River Grille & Brewing Works, which is the other big brewery in town (just barely a notch below the Terminal
BrewHouse). 221 Market St.; rhythm-brews.com
