Garden & Gun launches contest to promote Southern entrepreneurs

Some of the best things in the world are made in the South. And the editors of Garden & Gun magazine want to know about more of them. So we’ve launched the first-ever Made in the South Awards, a celebration of Southern craftsmanship and ingenuity. Whether you’ve just rolled out a new packaged barbecue sauce or you’ve been making bamboo fly rods for years, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase your goods. Anyone whose product or small business is based in the South may enter one of the five categories: Food, Home, Style, Sporting, and Etc. Five finalists will appear in our December/January issue and one lucky overall winner will travel to our home base of Charleston, South Carolina, to get a free consultation with Leapfrog Public Relations and Stitch Graphic Design—firms known for bringing national attention to small businesses in the Southeast. The online application is simple, but don’t delay. The deadline for entries is August 1, 2010.
