These Boots Are Made for Austin

SXSW is in full swing this week in Austin, Texas, and we’ve field-tested the perfect festival footwear: Tecovas boots.

The company launched in 2015 with a collection of four handmade styles for men and women in three comfortable calfskin leathers. “The boots are made by hand by a factory in Leon, Mexico, that has been handcrafting boots for over seventy years,” says company founder and CEO Paul Hedrick. “I spent the first year picking every part of the boot, including working with a tannery to develop our own calfskin leather.”

And while we’re partial to the new women’s low cowboy boot because it’s equal parts urban and rustic, there are handsome classic styles available, too. Where most handmade boots start at $600 and up, Tecovas stay under $300 per pair. Which means you’ll have plenty left over for beer and tacos to keep you fueled all week.
