Bourbon Cocktail: Wild Child
September 20, 2012Name of Drink: Wild Child
Bartender: Goran Remes
Name of Bar: Rye House in New York, NY
Favorite way to enjoy bourbon? With a beautiful woman, of course.

When asked why he would opt to mix in two bourbons instead of just one in his Wild Child cocktail, Goran Remes replied that he wanted to play on the father/son dynamic behind Wild Turkey. “Wild Turkey is a classic robust, full-bodied spirit. Using these two in a single drink pronounces the potency while underlining the partnership behind this brand in context,” he offers. “Wild Turkey 81 is a little more modest, less striking than the 101, obviously because of the lower proof. With the flavors being in the same family, they complement each other nicely without being too overbearing.”
He also loves the versatility of this particular brand, finding it great for sipping neat but lovely in shaken and stirred cocktails, as well.
