Crusade for Collecting

Gallery owner Jennifer Schwartz wants to see more art collectors in the world. So she's hitting the road for a ten-city tour on which she hopes to cultivate art enthusiasts from Atlanta to San Francisco.

The "Crusade for Collecting," as she's dubbed it, will move out next week on a 1977 VW Bus, nicknamed "Lady Blue, that will hold a variety of photographs for display at the Crusade's stops.

Schwartz plans to foster dialogue with visitors in each of the cities by asking them to choose their favorite pieces and discuss them with the traveling artists. Then she'll send many visitors home with their favorites, starting them on their own collections.

Below are a few of the photographs going out on the road with Schwartz. Don't miss the opportunity to see them in person. Her first stop will be Atlanta's High Museum, on Friday, November 23—the day after Thanksgiving. Come to see photography, meet photographers, and, maybe, get yourself a piece of art. Or, if you can't make Atlanta, check the Crusade's website to see where Schwartz will be next.
