It seems like every time I go to the High Point furniture market in North Carolina, I always find the accessories in furniture showrooms just as interesting as the new furniture on display.

Particularly one showroom: Lee Industries. They make it a point to display the work of artisans from around the South (which goes hand in hand with the fact that they make all of their furniture in North Carolina).

And out of everyone they've worked with over the years, I've found myself most drawn to the work of Georgia potter Charlie West and the gorgeous lamps he creates for them season after season.

His pieces are available in a myriad of colors and textures and shapes, and there is a raw, primitive quality to them that I love (examples of West's colorful work follow below).

If you're in the market for lighting with a lot more personality than what you'll find in the big box chain chain stores, this is your guy.

More proof that the South is home to incredible design talent.
