Wild Wallpaper

By Haskell HarrisMarch 8, 2011

I’ve always loved wallpaper, even when it fell out of fashion in favor of paint for a while.

Now that the look is back in a big way, there's no shortage of beautiful papers to be found.

But I’ve never seen wallpaper quite like the examples from the Nest collection by Schumacher (below).

At first glance the wallpapers look like graphic patterns in earthy, autumnal hues, but look closer and you’ll see that each panel is made from hundreds of hand-applied feathers.

I’m a fan of the lighter combinations, but any of the designs would be right at home in the entryway of a mountain house or a lodge or on the walls of a dark, moody bar. I’d also love to frame a single panel as a piece of art, since a little definitely goes a long way with this type of intricate paper.

How would you use it?
