A Winning Screen Porch

By Haskell HarrisSeptember 2, 2011

A few weeks back, I did a post about one of my favorite modern screen porches in the South (photo below of designer Courtney Bishop's beautiful space).

Using that room as an example of a screen porch done right, I launched our first Screen Porch Photo Contest.

In honor of the leisurely weekend ahead, I am happy to announce the winner (pictured below).

This porch is located in the historic district of Savannah, Georgia, and belongs to Jocelyn Ring, who worked in tandem with designer Alexandra Trujillo de Taylor on the room.

My favorite part? The white metal stag heads hanging on in the background. They're made from recycled car parts. I wouldn't mind having a glass of wine on this screen porch, that's for sure!

If you'd like to recreate a similar look to Joceyln's house on your screen porch, check out the outdoor curtain panels and stag heads available through Ballard Designs (photos below).  I love the look of outdoor panels. Not a totally new idea, but they really do make for a cozy outdoor space.

And don't forgot about Perennials outdoor fabrics. They have some really beautiful prints and solids that could help recreate Jocelyn's serene aesthetic too (examples pictured below).

As the winner, Jocelyn will receive a candle from Sydney Hale Co. (photo of the Magnolia Rosewood scent below).

Thanks to all who sent us their photos. We enjoyed looking at them all. Happy Labor Day everybody!
