Designer Sid Mashburn, author Julia Reed, and G&G Editor in Chief Sid Evans

In partnership with designer Sid Mashburn, JCT Kitchen and Pappy Van Winkle, G&G Editor in Chief Sid Evans hosted a celebration of the Bourbon Renaissance and Southern Style on Thursday, May 20, 2010.

Tastemakers and whiskey aficionados gathered to enjoy rare whiskeys and specialty cocktails provided by Julian Van Winkle, Club shopping privileges, great music spinning (Mashburn has an extensive collection of vinyl), and truly Southern delectables by JCT Kitchen. Renowned mixologist Lara Creasy created the seasonal, flavorful 'Lock, Stock & Barrel' cocktail for the event (See the recipe at the end of this gallery and click here for the event playlist).

An event highlight was the custom G&G crate of Pappy's featured in a silent auction. Handcrafted by renowned woodworker Michael Moran in Charleston, South Carolina, this crate is as much full of history and tradition as the Van Winkle whiskey inside it. The Southern Foodways Alliance will receive a percentage of auction proceeds.

A special thank you to event partners Sid Mashburn, JCT Kitchen, Pappy Van Winkle, and Michael Moran. Cheers!
