The Master Key

1 cocktail

This bourbon cocktail opens the door to a refined sipping experience

An orange cocktail in a glass

Created by Sea Island Resort mixologist Nic Wallace, the Master Key is a cocktail that lives up to its name. Spirit-forward yet surprisingly nuanced, it lands somewhere between a Boulevardier and a sherry cobbler—only softer, more aromatic, and impossibly smooth. With layers of caramel, spice, fig, and raisin in every sip, it’s hard to pin down but easy to love—and the key to unlocking a good time.

Ingredients

  • The Master Key

    • ½ oz. Blade & Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

    • ½ oz. Pedro Ximénez sherry

    • ¾ oz. Cocchi Americano Rosa

    • 5 dashes Angostura bitters blend (recipe follows)

    • 1 orange

    • 1 lemon peel

  • For the bitters blend

    • ½ oz. Angostura classic bitters

    • ½ oz. Angostura orange bitters

    • ½ oz. Angostura cocoa bitters

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir for 5–7 seconds. Strain over a large cube of ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with orange and lemon peel trims over the top.
