Braves’ Mascot is Full of Sass—and Some Sugar

Why Blooper leads the league at Twitter

Blooper, the mascot for the Atlanta Braves.

Although Atlanta Braves mascot Blooper never smiles—in fact, he has no mouth—he is one of the friendliest faces you’ll see around Truist Park. After his first appearance at the Braves Chop Fest in 2018 following longtime mascot Homer the Brave’s retirement, it took a while for Blooper to gain popularity, but the big, fuzzy, ambiguous being who passionately cheers on the Braves and interacts with fans—both in person and online—has captured the hearts of the Braves faithful. His stats on the official MLB website list his position as “center of attention,” and for evidence, look no farther than his electric Twitter profile, which he maintains with equal parts sass and spirit.

Among Blooper’s many dynamic qualities are his athleticism…

acute sense of style…

killer dance moves…

and fine grasp of pop culture.

He makes friends wherever he goes…

but his best friend is outfielder Adam Duvall’s son, Stone.

Don’t cross him…

or make promises you don’t intend to keep…

because he’s been known to start a fight.

But he knows his worth,

and above all else, he always keeps things positive.
