Sure, it’s still the middle of winter, but let us preemptively nominate the Song of the Summer. “Forever, Always,” from the Nashville folk-rock band Judah and the Lion, is a sweet summer crush anthem. It has the grandeur of Mumford & Sons with the rock grind of Arcade Fire, making for a sound so massive it’s perfect for a top-down, blaring-from-the-stereo cruise along the beach.

“‘Forever, Always’ is a song about finding a love that is not some one-night stand,” says lead singer Judah Akers. The track is from the upcoming second album, Folk Hop N’ Roll (out March 4), a genre-bending collection of songs that should tip the band as one of 2016’s breakout acts. Catch them on the road starting March 8 in Charleston, South Carolina, with many dates across the South to follow this spring. Enjoy a first listen of “Forever, Always” now exclusively on gardenandgun.com.
