Mint to Get People Talking

A fruity conversation starter cocktail from New Orleans

A green cocktail

Love a bourbon sour? Imagine that classic bittersweet backbone with a bright burst of orchard fruit and a hint of baking spice. That’s the idea behind the A & B Conversation, a cocktail fit for long talks and second rounds.

From New Orleans mixologist Erika Flowers, the drink opens with a warm foundation of vanilla and oak courtesy of Blade and Bow bourbon. Lush late-summer orchard notes come from apple brandy and orange and apricot liqueurs, while cinnamon syrup and a dash of Angostura bitters add subtle spice and structure. Crowned with mint, it’s cooling and dangerously easy to sip.
