Grand Isle

1 cocktail

A bracing, botanic cocktail inspired by. a coastal Louisiana refuge

A bottle of bourbon by a cocktail

Off the southern tip of Louisiana lies Grand Isle, a barrier island celebrated for its vibrant migratory birdlife and world-class fishing. This remote sanctuary has long drawn field sport enthusiasts, whether for treks through the maritime forest or the thrill of competing in its famed Tarpon Rodeo. And after a day in the elements, few things satisfy like a well-crafted cocktail. Enter the Grand Isle, created by New Orleans mixologist Abigail Gullo. It’s a bright, herbaceous blend that opens with sweet citrus notes and finishes with a gentle bitterness. A whisper of absinthe imparts delicate aromatics, while bourbon adds warming richness. It’s a drink as captivating as the place that inspired it.

  • Grand Isle

    • 1½ oz. Blade and Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

    • ½ oz. maple syrup

    • ½ oz. lemon juice

    • ½ oz. absinthe

    • ¼ oz. Suze

    • 1 sprig thyme, for garnish
