This year’s Good Dog Photo Contest, presented in partnership with Crypton Home performance fabrics, brought more than three thousand snuggly, silly, and spirited entries, plus thousands of votes. Once again, G&G editors took on the challenge of choosing the pups that stood out from the pack.

Our overall winner is Bart, a Llewellin setter puppy with a playful grin who loves to romp through the sunflowers on his owner’s property in Victor, New York. Our sleeping dog winners—Zora, Sam, and Stevie—were photographed dozing on their deck in Savannah, with Stevie giving the others her signature side-eye. Bart will receive a prize pack from G&G, and the sleepy trio will receive a custom dog bed from Crypton. Read more about these good dogs below.

Finally, a special shoutout to Otis Campbell, an English springer spaniel who gathered the most votes in our readers’ choice category.

The Overall Winner

Bart

Victor, New York

A black and white dog runs through a field

Bart is a six-month-old Llewellin setter known for his sweet snuggles and bird dog acumen. “He’s just a joy to train,” says owner Jody Filinovich. Though he’ll soon head to northern Michigan for his first big hunt, Jody hopes Bart can volunteer as a therapy dog in the off-season. “I’ve never seen a dog so all-knowing, calm, and sweet,” Filonovich says. “He’s got it all.”

The Sleeping Dog Winner

Zora, Sam, and Stevie

Savannah, Georgia

Three dogs sleep outside on a bed

Eight-year-old brindle boxer Zora, two-year-old Sam (“the world’s largest” Havanese at twenty-two pounds), and Stevie, a two-year-old fawn boxer and certified therapy dog, are all named after members of owner Mark Stephens’s family. “They play like crazy” but “have never had a fight amongst themselves,” Stephens says. When the three found out they were the sleeping dog victors, Stevie was eager to post on her Facebook page, but little brother Sam “just yawned and said he expected to win,” he adds.

Special thanks to all who entered! See the runners-up below.
