Over the weekend, heavy rains caused unprecedented flooding in Humphreys, Dickson, Houston, and Hickman counties in Middle Tennessee, about sixty miles west of Nashville. Even as search and rescue efforts continue, here is a list of some relief organizations that are mobilizing to support the residents of the affected areas.
This community center in Nashville has assembled a list of urgently needed items for debris removal and clean-up, as well as an Amazon wish list of other supplies. They are also asking for volunteers and accepting donations.
The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee
CFMT has activated the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund, which will distribute funds and support for relief efforts.
This Virginia-based disaster relief organization will be providing hot meals to flood victims and first responders.
This Knoxville-based nonprofit is taking truckloads of supplies to Waverly County and is also accepting monetary donations.
The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Department announced that people in the area may drop off supplies for victims at the National Guard Armory in Waverly, located at 1421 US-70.
The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department in Manchester, Tennessee is filling a trailer of supplies at the Coffee County Justice Center. They are seeking donations of clothes, water, and bleach.
You can also make donations to the local chapters of American Red Cross and Salvation Army, which are both mobilizing to support the affected areas with supplies and volunteers.
