If ever there was a stretch of road in the South that offered vintage and antique lovers their own kind of paradise, it might just be the slip of South Dixie Highway that runs smack through the middle of West Palm Beach. Design dreamers have flocked there for decades to sift through shops selling fifties, sixties, seventies, and eighties decor shed by the folks over the water in Palm Beach proper. And although most of the markets require an in-person shopping spree, the curators at Circa Who also share their finds on their website and ship them internationally. Which means that browsing the site is both a glamorous glimpse into Old Florida, and an easy way to score items from the comfort of your living room, from the classic (faux-bamboo chairs, a tole palm lamp) to the oddball (a rattan bicycle or a porcelain monkey letter opener by eighties designer Mario Lopez Torres).
“Our job is to make sure amazing vintage furniture finds new life,” says co-owner Scott Mast, who opened Circa Who sixteen years ago. “We get to see masterpieces every day, and there’s nothing more exciting than seeing a work of art come through the door.” Or get shipped out of it.
