The Ultimate Tailgating Coolers

Leather-wrapped coolers make their way to tailgates across the South

Tailgating, like football, is a sport in and of itself in the South. To kick off the season in style, we bring you a trend worth noting: the leather-wrapped cooler.

Our friends at Steve McKenzie’s in Atlanta, Georgia, are carrying this Igloo number wrapped in crocodile-embossed cowhide (pictured above). The 100-quart capacity translates to 145 chilled cans of Fullsteam Cack-A-Lacky. It’s available in 40 colors and carries a price tag of $2,925.

There are other, less pricey versions available, too. Case in point: this slightly more subdued option from Texas-based Blake Jones ($500). The leather and hide wraps a 16-quart Igloo, and there are handy side pockets for assorted sundries.

Or these beauties from Jayson Home & Garden, which start at $385 for the 10.5-quart model.

Each is undoubtedly handsome. We want to know what you think: Would you pack one for game day?
