High-Style in Cashiers, North Carolina

From fresh-cut flowers to fine antiques, Keven Hawkins offers a highly personalized experience

If the summer heat has you running for the hills, make a pit stop in Cashiers, North Carolina to swing by Keven Hawkins. Nestled in the heart of town, this new shop offers a mix of indoor and outdoor home essentials, hand-picked by local architect and designer Keven Hawkins.

A Cashiers native, Hawkins spent years in the northeast studying architecture and historic preservation, and later worked for decorator Mark Hampton in New York. Returning home four years ago to spend time with family, he was reminded of the inspiration he takes from the North Carolina landscape. “Some people say Whiteside Mountain is over 500 million years old,” he says. “There is this overwhelming sense of history here, of longevity from the land.”

Hawkins stocks everything from antiques to Matouk bed linens to salvaged barn wood cabinets to fine art. A walk-in cooler filled with fresh-cut flowers services those who are looking to design their own arrangements or who need a nosegay for a hostess gift.

His shop is housed in his grandfather’s former 1950s produce market, named the “Jot ‘em Down” because customers simply jotted down the items they wanted and paid their bill at the end of every month.

Hawkins offers a similarly personalized approach. “If there’s something you’re looking for and I don’t already have it,” he says, “I’ll find it for you.” That’s our kind of Southern hospitality.

The store is located at 341 Hwy. 107 South, Cashiers, NC 28717. To contact Keven Hawkins, call 1-828-743-6800.
