G&G seeks a media-savvy, creative storyteller with a strong track record of developing, marketing, and executing innovative, multi-platform solutions for top-tier brands. This role is central to our pre-sale process and requires managing incoming RFPs from agencies and clients—working closely with Sales, Editorial, Brand, Design, Events, and other internal teams to deliver high-quality, creative proposals on deadline.

As a lead proposal writer, you’ll be responsible for crafting compelling, original ideas and integrated marketing programs that are strategic, engaging, and tailored to client objectives. You will be a leading voice of our marketing and brand communications, ensuring all programs—across platforms—reflect our vision, creativity, and value to clients. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing program executions and partner activations, such as in-magazine branded content, custom events, and other special creative projects—overseeing timelines, budgets, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring execution that meets both brand and client goals.

The position reports to the Director, Integrated Marketing.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage RFP + Proposal writing process, including creative idea-generation + conceptualization–requiring excellent writing and story-telling skills to write, design, and edit clear and concise written proposals

• Collaborate with sales reps; marketing, editorial, and creative services teams; outside partners and vendors, etc. to create fully integrated and creative marketing programs that meet and exceed client goals and objectives

• Work across the brand portfolio and directly with marketing and sales teams to grow advertising revenue across print, digital, social, and experiential programs

• Serve as client + partnership manager–overseeing production timelines, managing deadlines, and engaging in active communication with clients throughout the program around updates, feedback, and approvals, ensuring deliverables align with brand goals and expectations

• Lead, strategize, and prioritize program creative initiatives—ensuring all requests to internal Creative Services (Art, Copywriting, Brand, etc.) align with campaign objectives, brand messaging, and client goals across print, digital, social, and experiential platforms

• Manage all custom program budgets including invoice processing, monthly reporting, and year-end actualization

• Support department signature programs, including owning partner activations within larger tentpole events and executing media sponsorships that are part of them

• Assist in development and production of brand sales presentations for special programming, research, and brand initiatives in coordination with other internal departments

• Manage, supervise, and work in coordination with an Associate Manager or Coordinator, Integrated Marketing, who directly reports to this position

Required qualifications:

• 6-8 years of experience in integrated, print, and/or digital marketing with a proven track record of delivering strategic, multi-channel partnerships and programs for clients

• Exceptional writing and story-telling skills, with the ability to craft compelling, brand-aligned proposals and content across platforms, including presentations, digital, social, print, and client-facing materials + event collateral

• Demonstrated ability to develop, execute, and manage multiple complex marketing programs from concept through completion, meeting project goals and deadlines

• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate creative concepts and campaign strategies to clients and internal team members

• A collaborative team player with experience managing people and the ability to effectively work across departments including sales, creative, and editorial teams

• Familiarity with digital and print media planning; publishing or agency experience strongly preferred

• Willingness to travel for events and/or client meetings + activations across the country

• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign

• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Charleston, SC, and available to work on-site
