The Garden & Gun Retail department operates our online retail venture, Mercantile + Co, as well as our bricks and mortar store, Fieldshop, located in the Dewberry Hotel. The Retail team seeks an organized, hardworking, and detail-oriented intern to learn and implement G&G’s retail  programs. The ideal candidate is creative, intelligent, and eager to learn the ins and outs of the dynamic G&G brand and gain experience in retail procedures, branding, merchandising and copywriting skills.

 Internship description

The Retail Intern will participate in Retail-related endeavors that include (but are not limited to):

–Coordinate inventory transfers

–Fulfill online sales orders and exchanges

–Develop and implement customer service techniques

–Learn and assist with new merchandising procedures

–Evaluate shipping methods and operations

–Learn and assist with copywriting for product descriptions

–Learn and assist with pop-up events

–Work with Retail managers to brainstorm promotional concepts

–Research designers/brands for potential product buys

–Research corporate gifting opportunities with Corporate Specialty Sales

–Assist with developing customer retention program

–Research social influencers

–Learn inventory and POS skills in Fieldshop

Ideal skills and attributes

–Have long-term interest in retail e-commerce and bricks and mortar operations

–Efficient in organization, communication, time management skills

–Have desire to learn and implement details of brand development

–Have desire to learn and implement retail merchandising, sales and marketing

–Excellent writing skills

Requirements

–Available full-time: Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM // Some weekends may be required

–Must be 21 years of age or older

–Post-college graduate or equivalent

–Must have access to a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license

This G&G internship is focused on the educational enrichment of the intern and is compensated solely through a small monthly stipend.

The internship is based in Charleston, South Carolina.
