Ingredients
-
1 oz. apple-cinnamon syrup*
½ oz. lemon juice
1½ oz. apple brandy
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 very thin slice of apple, for garnish
Preparation
Combine the syrup, lemon juice, brandy, and bitters in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Float the apple slice on the drink for a garnish, and serve.
*To make the apple cider-cinnamon syrup, bring 4 cups of good-quality apple cider to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat to medium-low, add a cinnamon stick, and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for about 25 minutes, or until the cider has reduced to the consistency of syrup. Bring to room temperature, then refrigerate in a tightly covered container. The yield is about 4 ounces.
